14. Will I be famous in my past life?
Some clients come to the session expecting to recall famous past life memories and see themselves
as highly developed souls in the spiritual world experience. In truth, the experience is more likely to be somewhat humbling.
There are many scientifically documented cases of subjects under hypnotic past life regression perfectly speaking ancient languages and generally recalling information they could not possibly have known. However, this does not prove that every past life memory is genuine. One of the complaints against past life regression is that some therapists or researchers occasionally report individuals recalling historically inaccurate or improbably famous lifetimes (such as Jesus, Joan of Arc, Marilyn Monroe etc). This is called 'false memory syndrome' and is usually, but not always, associated with light trance levels and an absence of affect. A good LBL Therapist works hard to get the client extremely deep and watches out for the imaginative and subjective possibilities of past life and LBL Regression - he learns how to spot fake experiences. This is very important. Why? Because clients need to know whether the insights they are gaining are coming from the regular conscious mind or the brilliant super conscious mind. Newton's skeptical scientific background gave him a great advantage in this respect.
15. Is it Useful?
As well as being enjoyable and extremely interesting, LBL sessions
are often hugely therapeutic, even life changing. Some call it the ultimate form of existential therapy (the three forms of conventional
therapy are psychodynamic, existential and behavioral). Note, however, LBL regression therapy is aimed at essentially psychologically
healthy clients. It does not promise or claim to cure psychological conditions.
Highlights include:
* Experiencing oneself as immortal
and understanding that life is, after all, meaningful, purposeful and loving.
* Experiencing the love and protection of one's personal
spiritual guide.
* Understanding spiritual world and past life connections to current life loved ones (eg family, lovers and friends).
*
Understanding the distinction between one's current life human personality and one's true immortal personality.
* Examining current
life psychological dynamics and purpose.
Interestingly the spiritual world experience mostly occurs in 'real time' - i.e. is not simply
a memory of one's experience in that place at some time in the past. As a result, subjects can concentrate on current life issues
and can ask their guide questions etc. Indeed, it's the real time aspect of the spiritual world experience that makes LBL Regression
so therapeutically valuable.
16. Will I remember what happened?
Hypnotherapists, unlike stage hypnotists, ask their subjects to
remember everything that occurs during the session. Indeed, on awakening, the details are usually crystal clear. The client is also
given a recording of the session to take home (usually made using two lapel microphones, one for the subject and one for the therapist).
